DCAA APPROACH

Built around what DCAA actually looks for

AVERNORTH is not a DCAA-compliant system and does not claim to be. But it is built around the practices that auditors look for when they show up.

⚠️
Important disclaimer

AVERNORTH is a business operations platform, not a certified accounting system. It does not replace a CPA, a DCAA-compliant accounting system, or formal audit preparation. If your contract requires a DCAA-approved accounting system, consult with your contracting officer and a qualified government contract accountant before using AVERNORTH as your primary timekeeping system.

WHAT WE BUILT

Timekeeping practices built into the platform

📅
Daily Entry Enforcement
DCAA auditors look for contemporaneous timekeeping — hours entered the day the work was performed, not reconstructed on Friday afternoon. AVERNORTH enforces daily entry and flags late submissions.
🏷️
Charge Code Assignment
Every hour logged must be assigned to a WBS charge code that maps directly to your BOE. No floating hours, no unallocated time. Every line of work traceable to a contract task.
Supervisor Approval Workflow
Timesheets require supervisor review and approval before they close. The approval is logged with a timestamp and cannot be overwritten — creating the paper trail auditors expect.
📋
Immutable Correction Log
When a timesheet needs to be corrected, the original entry is preserved and the correction is logged with a reason. Nothing is deleted. Auditors can see exactly what changed and why.
